You may have found the best solution ever created for your health care challenge. But unless it can “talk” with your digital data system, it’s not going to work.
If you buy a heart monitor for your clinic but it can’t communicate with your software, for example, it may just sit there unused.
If your digital tracking system doesn’t interface with a rehab clinic, it will be hard, if not impossible, to keep a close eye on the patients you send there.
Or if your hospital cannot access a comatose patient’s medication list, a physician may prescribe a drug that interacts with her existing medications – with dire results.
Connector tools — also known as interface or “interop” tools – help solve one of the most critical problems in healthcare: lack of interoperability.
The “interop” tools below can help you connect with the solution you find in the Raven directory. As part of the Center for Care Innovations, Raven developed MOCI to help you connect the solution you want to your EHR. We’re also featuring Lucro, Sansoro, and Xealth, which we’ve tested extensively and found to be valuable connector tools.
Let us know how they work for you.
MOCI is interoperability made easy through a self-service healthcare integration platform. It uses open source tools so you’ll get both flexibility and better pricing.
MOCI is a self-service healthcare integration environment developed by Raven and the Center for Care Innovation (CCI). This product was developed based the consistent input we’ve gotten from safety net provider organizations: You’ve told us you need more flexibility, more control over your integration environments, better pricing at scale, and future proofing for specifications like FHIR (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources). MOCI is built to do exactly that.
Why else would safety net providers be interested in MOCI? Here are the novel inovations it has to offer:
Flexibility. With full access to MOCI, your safety net provider organization can write or edit its own transforms or hire somebody else to help. Or mix and match, depending on scale, timing, and resource availability.
Scaling Success. Digital health success is transforming healthcare at scale. Sustainability and affordability is mission critical. Using MOCI with Raven is free of charge. When moved to production in your environment, pricing is not per connection, so is not linear with your success. Do 1 to 500 EHR connections without 500x the price.
No lock-in. MOCI leverages open source tools like Mirth and Postgres and open source data standards like FHIR. MOCI transforms to 1) help demystify EHR integration and 2) provide a starting point for those wanting to write their own transforms. The goal is to empower and engage a community of healthcare organizations that are aligned with making healthcare better.
Future proofing. The goal isn’t to lock you into a proprietary API or data standard. You are free to choose the type of EHR connection that helps you succeed (and that your external partners have available). When FHIR is readily available or if you want to connect directly to the new EHR app stores, we want you to do that without having to re-architect your application. In the perfect world, you wouldn’t need an integration engine or expert. But healthcare is not a perfect world, so we built MOCI to help you practically solve the EHR challenges that exist today.
Platform benefits. MOCI users get proactive monitoring from hardware through networking to Mirth itself, HITRUST Certified environments, resiliency across multiple data centers, and best-of-industry DevOps and DevSecOps. If something goes wrong, your team gets Slack messages and pages to trigger triage and fixes.

Redox provides a scalable HIPAA-compliant and HITRUST-certified integration platform that simplifies the way provider organizations exchange data and adopt innovative technology solutions A single connection to Redox enables a suite of reusable, bi-directional APIs to power applications across the continuum of care. Redox is trusted by 300+ provider organizations and technology vendors to power efficient health data exchange and lay the foundation for digital transformation.
Redox was selected as a Gartner 2018 Cool Vendor in Healthcare Providers and awarded a patent for the proprietary Redox platform. Our goal is not to simply perpetuate the point-to-point connection process, but to create a web of interoperability across the industry. Redox exists to make healthcare data useful and every patient experience a little bit better.
What sets Redox apart:
The Redox Network:
Hundreds of applications–from telehealth to care coordination, patient engagement to analytics–are already connected.. Once connected to the Redox network, provider organizations can enable near turnkey integration with any vendor on the network, while also giving new vendors a modern API to develop to.
EHR and Standards Agnostic:
Redox can work with any EHR vendor that has the ability to send or receive data with third parties. To date, we’ve integrated with over 30 different vendors including Epic, Cerner, athenahealth, Allscripts, Meditech, and more using HL7, APIs, FHIR, and other proprietary formats, as needed.
Reusable and lightweight integrations:
The reusable Redox infrastructure prevents redundant projects and accelerates integration timelines. No more custom builds or new specs–Redox conforms to the specifications and data exchange methods currently in use at your organization.
Managed services from integration experts:
Our health system partners work with a dedicated Redox team that will be an ongoing liaison between health system or EHR IT teams and the systems they’re connecting with. Instead of having to work with a wide variety of different vendor counterparts, you’ll always have a knowledgeable integration point of contact that can be an extension of your team.
Sansoro Health creates software connectivity for electronic medical records.
From the Solutions Vendor: Sansoro Health, LLC, Overview
Sansoro Health, LLC, transforms healthcare information technology by offering an elegant, effective software solution for electronic medical record (EMR) integration.
Sansoro’s core product, EmissaryTM, provides comprehensive EMR-agnostic APIs to integrate any application with the major EMR platforms. Sansoro works directly with customers to ensure that its solutions are safe, reliable and scalable.
- Through Emissary, software connectivity to EMRs happens in days, not months, without the need for painful data-mapping exercises.
- With real-time data pulled or pushed through web services, third-party vendors exchange comprehensive clinical, financial and administrative data with a health system’s core EMR.
- The health system’s EMR platform typically contains all coding systems (e.g. LOINC®, SNOMED® or ICD). If the EMR stores these code sets, Emissary exposes them, thus helping to normalize the related data.
- Use of web services reduces or eliminates interface maintenance costs.
- Real-time data exchange reduces the need for replicating data in external databases. While data sourced from traditional HL7 feeds must be stored in the receiving system’s database, Emissary web services allow the requesting system to obtain EMR data on demand.
Emissary currently supports the following:
- Allscripts TouchWorks – All Versions
- Cerner Millennium® 2007.01 or higher code version
- Epic 2014 (8.1) and Epic 2015 (8.2)
- MEDITECH Client Server 5.x and Client Server 6.

Xealth allows healthcare teams to order digital prescriptions and content so patients can take more control over their health.
From the Manufacturer: Xealth Overview
Xealth enables healthcare teams to order digital content and services as easily as they do medications today. Patients can then access these digital health prescriptions from the provider’s portal so that they can actively manage their health.
Until now, tools that allow care providers to integrate tailored digital health information and apps—and monitor their usage—have not kept pace with providers and patients’ desire to use them. Xealth enables IT/IS teams to onboard digital vendors into clinician and patient EMR interfaces in days rather than weeks.
Using Xealth’s prescribing and analytics platform, care teams can order digital health care and multimedia content, apps, and devices to further extend and improve patient education and engagement.
Physicians can quickly monitor (or be automatically notified of) a patient’s engagement with the digital solution. Xealth enables them to do this right from their existing charting interface, improving care team efficiency.
Care teams and physician leadership can see the effects of more engaged patients, while measuring outcomes and effectiveness of different prescribed content, apps, services, and connected medical devices across the entire system.
